Kaiser HMO summary.

The Kaiser health maintenance organization (HMO) plan provides comprehensive coverage, including preventive care. Unlike the Blue Cross and UHC plans, the Kaiser HMO does not have a deductible, which means the plan shares the cost of eligible in-network care and services with you immediately.

If you’re considering the Kaiser HMO, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

  • Most services are covered at 100% after a copay
  • You must select a Kaiser primary care location, which is where you’ll go for care and who will refer you to a specialist, when needed
  • You must use in-network providers (including hospitals) to receive plan benefits. If you go out of network, except for emergency care, you’ll pay the full cost of care and services
